Requirement for Indian Nurses in Germany
If you are a Nurse (GNM/B.Sc.), currently working in India and looking for a great opportunity abroad, then read on.

- Eligibility criteria
To work as a nurse in Germany, candidates need:
- Academic Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing, GNM Diploma, or Post-B.Sc. Must be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC)
- Language Proficiency: A1, A2, B1 & B2 Level: For initial training or assistant roles.
- B2 Level (Mandatory): For full licensure and the recognition process.
- Time Required: A1 to B1 → 8–10 months, A1 to B2 → 12–14 months
- Work Experience
- Freshers are eligible
- 1–2 years of experience is preferred (not mandatory everywhere)

- Complete German A1 and A2 level.
- Take the interview with the employer while at the B1 level.
- Get a confirmed contract in hand after clearing the interview.
- Learn B1 and B2 levels in the language while applying for the recognition procedure (known as Anerkennung) at the respective German state's authority.
- Anerkennung gives two pathways to Indian Nurses since the Indian degree is not directly recognised in Germany. To work as a registered nurse, you either do the Adaptation course (known as Anpassungslehrgang) or clear the Knowledge Exam (known as Kenntnisprüfung).
- Apply for a visa with the Anerkennung results
- Join the employer as an assistant nurse with a salary of approximately 2100-2300 Euros per month while preparing for the Kenntnisprüfung.
- Clear the Kenntnisprüfung and start working as a registered nurse with an increased salary of approximately 2800-3000 Euros per month

Beginners Level – German Language Course (Levels A1 & A2)
